Description
Design 331 works its gold embroidery into a framed medallion at the centre of the black velvet. The medallion is closed off by its own border, and the velvet around it is left plain, so the eye goes to one place and stays there. It is a steady, unfussy face and it does not tire.
The bag is made in three sizes: 10.5 by 10 inches for bar mitzvah, 14 by 14 as a large talis bag, and 16 by 16 extra large. This is a good design for daily davening rather than for Yom Tov only — the plain velvet around the medallion takes handling without showing it, and the framed centre keeps its outline as the nap flattens with use.
A shtender cover is made in the same 331 design, which is worth considering for a man who has his own place in the beis medrash.
