Description
Rav Dr. Salomon Breuer (1850–1926) was a talmid of the Ksav Sofer and successor to his father-in-law, Rav Samson Raphael Hirsch, as Rav of the Frankfurt Kehillah, known as Adas Yeshurun. He was founder and Rosh Yeshiva of the Frankfurt Yeshiva.
Rav Breuer preserved in written form his Shabbos and Yom Tov shul sermons, which included moving inspirational messages and timeless lessons for our people. They were built on original interpretations of the Torah, based on various Midrashic sources. Rav Breuer’s sermons are a rich source of wisdom and exhortation — Chochmo u’Mussar.
Originally published as separate volumes in German (1930-1936) and in English (1972-1977), this thoroughly revised 624-page volume presents Rav Breuer’s profound and intricate expositons in a clear, modern idiom and a welcome addition to the study of the weekly parashah.
