Crystal Crown Velvet Challah Cover with Swarovski Detail #178

The crowned curtain design worked on velvet instead of brocade. The becher and the candelabra sit at the center, the curtain drapes above them and the crown tops the whole arrangement, with genuine Swarovski crystals picking out the details. Against velvet the crystals are the only reflective element on the face, so they carry further than they do on a brocade ground where the weave is already catching light of its own.

Choose the thread — silver or gold — and then the size, from small at 14.5 by 17.5 through medium at 15.5 by 19.5 to large at 19.5 by 23.5. Velvet has more drape than brocade, so a large cover here falls over the edges of a board softly rather than sitting square on it. Most families take the medium for weekly use.

The 178 number is also produced as zemiros booklets, zemiros holders and tallis and tefillin bags, so the crown design can run from the table to shul. It is a common gift for a chosson who is setting up a Shabbos table for the first time.
