Description
Design #1220 is cut for Shabbos and Yom Tov rather than for a weekday morning. It is dressier than the standard custom bags, with more work across the face and a heavier body underneath, and it is finished to be looked at. That does not make it fragile; it is still a working bag with proper seams and a face that will not go soft, but it belongs to the man who wants something better than his everyday bag for the days that call for it.
It is offered as a bar mitzvah bag at 10.5" x 10", a large talis bag at 14" x 14", and an extra large at 16" x 16". Most men buying a dressier bag already own a full tallis, which puts them in the two larger cuts; take the 16" x 16" if the tallis is thick or you also carry a siddur.
Some families buy this as the second bag, keeping a plainer one for the week. Others buy it once, for a chosson, and it becomes the only bag he uses. Both are reasonable ways to think about it.
