Velvet and Glass Challah Board, Design #630, 16x11

What is under the glass here is velvet. Design #630 backs its artwork with a velvet ground, and velvet under a clear top behaves very differently from paper or print — the nap holds shadow, so the design reads with real depth rather than sitting flat, and the color shifts slightly as you move around the table. The glass keeps all of that sealed and untouchable.

The board is 16 by 11 inches, sized for two full challos and the knife. The velvet is doing the looking; the glass is doing the working.
