Description
A warm leather-look panel sits under the clear glass of design #855. The tone is on the lighter, browner side of the leather boards, which reads less severe than the darker grains and sits more comfortably on a table with wood in it. The material is sealed beneath the top, so what gets handled is glass and the leather look stays untouched.
The board is 16 by 11 inches. That is two full challos across with the knife beside them, and enough clear surface that the cover lies flat rather than riding up. It wipes clean after the seudah with a damp cloth, needs no oiling and takes no stain, which is what allows a board of this weight to be used every week rather than saved.
This one gifts well at a wedding or for a new home, and the reason is the range behind it: #855 is also cut as a challah cover and as a tallis and tefillin bag. A chosson can be given the board and the bag in the same design, and the challah cover fills out the table later.
