Leather Challah Cover with Panel Embroidery and Matching Board #855

Paneled embroidery across leather — the design is divided into worked sections rather than running as one continuous pattern, with sterling crystals set into the panels. Breaking the face into panels gives 855 a more architectural feel than the flowing designs in the range, and it suits the material: leather takes a straight line better than it takes a curve.

Three sizes are cut, 14.5 by 17.5, 15.5 by 19.5 and 19.5 by 23.5. Since the panels are proportioned to the cover, each size reads slightly differently — the large gives each panel more room, the small packs them closer. Neither is wrong, but they are not interchangeable, so it is worth looking at the size you are actually going to order rather than the photograph of whichever one was shot.

A challah board is made to match in the same 855 design, and Malchut also cuts the number as a tallis and tefillin bag. The board and cover together are the natural pairing, and they are frequently bought that way for a chosson setting up his own Shabbos table.
