Description
An oval shape quilted into the center of a satin cover, embedded with genuine Swarovski crystals and pearls. The quilting is what makes it unusual: instead of a flat embroidered oval you get a raised one, with the stitched outline holding the shape and the satin pulling light along the ridge. Crystals and pearls together give two different kinds of shine on one surface.
Two sizes, medium at 15.5x19.5 and large at 19.5x23.5. There is no small in this design, which suits it — the quilted oval needs a certain field to look right. The medium is the everyday size for a family board; the large is for a long table or Yom Tov, when the drape over the sides is part of the effect.
Design 182 also runs as a megillah case and as a tallis and tefillin bag. The same pattern is made in navy velvet, which reads darker and heavier; this satin version is the brighter of the two and the one that belongs on a white or cream table.
