Description
Design #690 reads as tooled leather under glass. The grain and the worked border are set below a clear top, which means the depth stays visible while the surface stays completely flat — the appearance of a leather-bound piece with none of the vulnerability, since nothing you put on the board ever reaches the material.
Sixteen inches by eleven is wide enough for two challos and the knife beside them, which is the measure that matters on a Friday night when the board comes to the table already set. It also means the challah cover has room to lie flat. Cleaning is a damp cloth and nothing else; salt, oil and crumbs stay on the glass rather than working into a grain.
