Description
Restraint is the character of #876. A linen-look weave under clear glass, no metallic, no strong figure — a board that sits at the head of the table without competing with the challos, the candlesticks or the becher. The glass gives the weave a clean sheen and keeps it from ever looking tired.
The board measures 16 by 11 inches, which holds two full challos with the knife alongside and leaves border for the cover to lie flat. All the working properties come from the glass: nothing soaks in, nothing scratches through to the fabric, and the whole board wipes down with a damp cloth when the seudah is over.
A challah cover is produced in the same #876 design. If the aim is a table that reads calm rather than decorated, matching the cover to the board is what makes that read as a choice — same weave, same tone, one design number covering both.
