Linen-Look Challah Board with Glass Top, Design #856, 16x11

Design #856 keeps it plain on purpose: a linen-look texture, a clear glass top, and no ornament beyond the weave itself. On a board that will be looked at every week for years, that restraint holds up better than a strong pattern does, and the glass keeps the texture crisp instead of letting it fuzz with handling.

Sixteen by eleven inches of usable surface is the practical spec. Two full challos with the knife beside them, no overhang, and enough room for the cover to sit properly on top. Glass means the board is finished with the meal the moment the meal is finished — one damp cloth and it goes away clean.

Malchut runs #856 as a challah cover and as a tallis and tefillin bag. The bag is worth knowing about if there is a bar mitzvah coming: the bochur carries the design to shul and the same design sits under the challos at home, which is a connection families notice long after the simcha.
