Description
Shammai, like his namesake from the times of the Mishnah, looks forward to Shabbos every day of the week. Together with his mother he prepares for it on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and beyond. Aliza Methal's 24-page book, illustrated by Rivka Engel and Goldi Weiss, shares the joy of anticipating Shabbos.
"I can't wait for Shabbos! Mommy, is Shabbos coming soon?"
"No, it's not, Shammai, It's only Sunday afternoon."
Like his great namesake from the times of the Mishnah, Shammai looks forward to Shabbos and, with his mother, prepares for it each and every day of the week. What will he do for Shabbos on Monday? On Tuesday? On Wednesday? You'll only find out when you read this book.
In this adorable children's book, the joy and excitement we feel as we look forward to Shabbos each week is communicated clearly to young readers, who will soon be caught up in their very own anticipation of Shabbos, too!
