Description
The Rabbi Edition Dov Bear Kippah is a heathered grey woven yarmulke with an embroidered bear, offered in 9 sizes at $9.99. The bear stands on the front panel dressed like a rav: a long black frock coat, a black brimmed hat, a white shirt with a dark tie and brown shoes, one paw tucked into a pocket. The embroidery is dense and raised, so the coat reads as solid black against the fabric. The ground is a salt-and-pepper grey with a visible slub weave similar to linen, cut in four panels with a matching grey rim. Sold by Judaica Square, shipping from Lakewood, NJ.

Best for
- A boy who wants to dress like his rebbe or his zaidy
- A gift for a new rav or rebbetzin's son
- Grey suits and charcoal trousers
- Father-and-son matching, with flat sizes up to 20 cm
Not the right choice if
- You want a solid kippah with no picture
- A school that allows only plain black velvet
- You need a machine-washable kippah for daily rough play
- You want a bright or colourful design; this one is mostly grey and black
Why customers choose it
The Dov Bear embroideries dress the same teddy in different outfits, and the rabbi version is the one that speaks to a Jewish home: long coat, black hat, tie. On a quiet grey background the black figure stands out cleanly, so the kippah looks tidy rather than busy. Grey also pairs with more clothes than navy or black, which makes this a practical everyday piece. It is a favourite choice for a boy who looks up to his rebbe, and flat sizes mean adults can wear it too.

Frequently asked questions
What is the bear wearing on the Rabbi Edition?
A long black coat, a black brimmed hat, a white shirt with a dark tie and brown shoes, all in raised embroidery.
What fabric is the grey kippah?
It is a heathered grey woven cloth with a slub texture that looks and feels like linen, soft rather than stiff.
How does it differ from the Grandpa Bear kippah?
Grandpa Bear wears a camel overcoat and a flat cap on navy linen. The Rabbi Edition wears black and sits on grey, so it looks more formal.
Is it suitable for an adult?
Yes. Size 5, size 6 and the 18 cm and 20 cm flat sizes fit most teens and men, and the design works as a light-hearted adult kippah.
How do I clean around the embroidery?
Dab the fabric with a damp cloth and mild soap, working around the bear. Rubbing the stitches can raise loose threads.
