Large Hebrew Mikra'os Gedolos - Yehoshua / Shoftim Hardcover, ArtScroll

"An unprecedented way to study the Prophets’ timeless words," as ArtScroll describes this edition - and the first thing you notice when it arrives is the sheer size of the page.

At 9.00 x 12.00 inches this is a large-format Mikra'os Gedolos, which is the whole idea. A Mikra'os Gedolos page sets the pesukim in the center with the classic commentaries arrayed around them, and on a cramped page that layout becomes a wall of small type. Give it a 9 by 12 spread and the text opens up: you can find the commentary you want without hunting, and you can learn from it for an hour without your eyes giving out.

This volume covers Yehoshua and Shoftim together across 648 pages, in Hebrew throughout, bound in hardcover. Two complete seforim of Navi in one binding means the years of the conquest and the era of the Judges sit side by side, which is how they are usually learned.

It is built for a shtender, a beis midrash shelf or a serious home library rather than for carrying. If you are learning Navi properly - with a chavrusa, or preparing to teach it - this is the format that makes the difference between reading the text and actually working through it.
