Description
Design #1258, made to order in leather as a siddur and a Tehillim cover. The leather is the same as that used on the tallis and tefillin bags in this number, worked to the smaller format so the grain and the finish read consistently across the pieces.
A fitted leather cover does something a generic one cannot: it holds the sefer closed. A siddur sitting loose in a bag opens, catches on a zipper and creases pages; one in a properly cut cover stays shut from the moment it goes in until it comes out. Over the life of a siddur, that single difference is the whole reason to buy a cover.
This is a common addition to a chosson order. The bags are the centrepiece and the covers are what complete them, usually for a small share of the total. If the siddur and Tehillim being covered are themselves gifts, ordering everything at once means the recipient opens a set rather than assembling one over several years.
