Description
A marble-look border runs around the edge of each panel in design #200, framing eight transparent lucite benchers at 9.5 inches square. Marble against clear is an unusual combination and it works because the veining gives the eye an edge to land on while the centre stays completely open — the text appears to sit directly on the tablecloth. Gold or silver detailing runs with the border.
The benchers here are transparent rather than printed on both faces, which keeps each panel light and very legible. Nine and a half inches is the full size in this line, the one to take when the table is long and people are reading from a distance rather than holding the card close. Ashkenaz or Eduth Mizrach, chosen once for the whole set of eight.
The #200 design also appears on tallis and tefillin bags, so a marble-bordered bag and a matching bencher set can be ordered together. That combination comes up often for a bar mitzvah, where the bag is the main gift and the benchers go to the seudah table.
