Description
Brown on the luxury scroll body is a warmer read than black, closer to a leather-bound sefer than to a suit, and it holds up better against a bookshelf if the case is kept out rather than put away. Design 1020BC, rigid tube, capped at both ends and undecorated apart from the colour.
Two lengths are made, 17.7 inches and 14 inches. The long tube is standard for a full megillah; the short is for a compact scroll or a boy's. The personalized snap-on handle comes with the case, and on a tube nearly a foot and a half long that handle is not a luxury, since carrying it by the body means holding it the entire walk to shul and back.
It is also the case to consider if there are two megillos in the house and you want them told apart at a glance without having to open either one.
