Meaningful Messages: Vayikra Rabbi Dovid Vatch (Hardcover)

Valuable lessons from the weekly parshah for the whole family, including selected and concise halachos of Shabbos

The Zohar Hakadosh explains that our Torah is not a mere recounting of pivotal events that happened in Jewish history. Even when the Torah relates what seems like a simple story, its unquestionable intent is to teach us lofty hints and lessons for life. It is with this in mind that Meaningful Messages was written, seeking to convey the underlying teachings inherent in each chapter and verse.

In Meaningful Messages: Vayikra, Rabbi Dovid Vatch explores the events related in each parashah, analyzing various ideas through the lens of the Gemara, Midrash, rishonim, and achronim, and presenting us with timely lessons on a variety of topics. Emunah, chinuch, hakaras hatov, compassion, tefillah, the kedushah of Shabbos, and much more pass under his scrutiny, with new insights revealed and fascinating concepts unearthed. Drawing on the writings of many contemporary gedolim, Rabbi Vatch acquaints us with the thoughts of Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman, Rav Gamliel Rabinovitch, and others, providing a fresh perspective on the parashiyos we know so well.

Each section of Meaningful Messages is replete with stories and anecdotes from our recent gedolim, including the Chofetz Chaim, Rav Avigdor Miller, and Rav Chaim Pinchas Scheinberg, zt"l, making it an ideal contribution to every family’s Shabbos table. The sefer also presents a section of relevant halachos of Shabbos, driving home the point that everything written in the Torah is there to teach us Hashem's meaningful messages.

Meaningful Messages is an impressive collection of Torah thoughts and lessons of our gedolim throughout the generations, conveyed in an easy-to-read, inspiring way. It is a valuable guide that can be shared at the Shabbos table or with students, designed to communicate the simchah of Torah and the ideals of Yiddishkeit."
