Multi-Ply Cotton Wicks, 38-Ply
Thirty-eight strands is a substantially heavier wick than the 22- or 24-ply, and it behaves accordingly. More cotton pulls more oil, so the flame stands taller and throws noticeably more light, which is what you want for a large menorah meant to be seen from the street.
Give it a wide glass and a generous fill of oil, since a heavier wick works through fuel faster than a slim one. Used that way it holds a broad, bright, even flame for the length of the evening.
