Five point eight ounces splits the difference between the compact 5.3 oz set and the fuller 6.4 oz one. It is enough wine to share around a normal Shabbos table and still light enough to lift with one hand for the length of kiddush, which is the real test.
Cup and tray are both silver plated and sold together as a set. The tray keeps the overflow off the cloth on Friday night and off the tablecloth again at havdalah, when the cup is deliberately filled past the rim.
