Description
The top of the Valles Hamekoiry range. Giza lishma means the intent begins at the shearing, before the wool is combed and long before it reaches the spindle, and plach means the strand is then spun by hand on the spindle rather than on a wheel. Every stage carries the intent, and the packet is a complete set for all four corners of a beged.
There is no higher grade in this line to move up to. Men who buy at this level have usually worked their way through the others and know precisely what the distinction is worth to them, and they are generally tying onto a single tallis that will be theirs for decades. It is also, occasionally, what a family orders for a chosson, where the tallis and the strings on it are meant to last a lifetime.
Have these tied by someone who ties regularly unless you are entirely confident with a keshira. A set at this grade deserves a corner that is done right the first time, and the strings themselves give no second chances once they are cut.
