Design 940 works the other way from its sister numbers: instead of covering the face, it draws a geometric frame and leaves the middle open, with crystal detail set at the corners where the lines meet. The result is a quieter cover that reads as structure rather than decoration, and the open center means a challah board underneath stays part of the picture instead of being hidden.

Three cuts are made — 14.5 by 17.5, 15.5 by 19.5 and 19.5 by 23.5. Because the design is a border, size affects it more than it would a centered motif: the frame needs to land outside the challos, not on top of them. Measure your challos and take the size that leaves the frame sitting clear of the loaves.
