Description
Satin under the same dense silver embroidery that carries design 36. Satin is the brightest of the three grounds this number is made on: the weave itself reflects, so the silver thread and the sterling crystals are working against a surface that is already throwing light rather than absorbing it. The whole cover reads lighter and more formal than the leather or brocade versions of the same design.
Small, large, X-large and XX-large are all cut. The satin drapes more than the leather does, so on the larger sizes the cover falls over the edges of a board or a table rather than standing off it — worth knowing if you are ordering XX-large specifically to reach across a long Yom Tov setting.
All three fabric versions of 36 carry the same embroidery, so this is a decision about surface rather than design. Satin is the one to take for a table set formally, brocade for something more traditional, leather for something that has to survive weekly use.
