Description
The face of this one is a kaarah — the Seder plate laid out in pattern, positions and all, in the Crystal Collection's #552 design. It is drawn for a child, and the reasoning is straightforward: a boy with his own kaarah printed in front of him can follow where the Seder actually is instead of craning across the table to see.
The cover has one pocket, which holds his matzah and, more to the point, holds his crumbs. The 30cm kids size is the natural pick and comes with no additional insert pockets. The 40cm bucherim size is also made, with one pocket insert included, for an older boy who wants the kaarah design at a full-size setting.
This is the cover to hand a five- or six-year-old the week before Pesach so that it is properly his by the time the first Seder starts. It does the same job as the adult covers at the table — matzos held, crumbs contained — while teaching the order of the night without anyone having to explain it twice.
