Brocade Matzah Cover with Velvet Medallions, Embassy Collection #537

Velvet medallions arranged in an oval across a fine brocade ground — that is the whole of design #537, and it is a more architectural look than the single centered medallion Malchut usually runs. The oval draws the eye around the panel instead of pulling it into one point, which gives the cover a calmer presence on a crowded table.

It comes in three sizes. The kids size at 30cm has no insert pockets. The bucherim size at 40cm carries one pocket insert. The men size at 47cm carries three, one per matzah, keeping them separated and in order through Yachatz and Motzi Matzah without anyone sorting them mid-Seder.

The Embassy design is also produced as a challah cover, so the same brocade-and-velvet combination can appear every Friday night rather than once a year. For a chosson and kallah setting up a first Pesach, the 47cm with a matching challah cover is a complete-feeling gift and one that will not look dated in ten years.
