Glass Challah Board, Design #578 with Matching Challah Cover, 16x11

Design #578 is fixed beneath clear glass on a 16 by 11 board. Sealing the pattern under the top is what separates a board like this from a printed or painted one — the working surface is glass and only glass, so the design cannot scuff, fade at the edges or wear through in the spot where the challah always lands.

Sixteen by eleven is generous. It takes a full pair of challos side by side with the challah knife alongside, which means one trip from the kitchen instead of two. It also means the cover has somewhere to sit: a cramped board pushes the cover up into a tent, a wide one lets it lie flat. Cleaning is one damp cloth, no oiling, no drying rack, no worrying about a soaked-in stain.

A challah cover in the same #578 design is made to go with it. For a family that has been using a plain wooden board and a cover from somewhere else, buying the two in one design number is the cheapest way to make the head of the table look intentional.
