Description
A woven linen-look base gives design #655 its texture, and the clear glass over it keeps that texture readable without letting anything touch it. Linen is the most understated of the grounds Malchut uses on these boards — no shine, no metallic, just a fine visible weave — and under glass it reads as a natural, matte field rather than a decorative one.
The board is 16 by 11 inches. It holds two full challos and the knife, sits properly at the head of the table, and takes the cutting without any consequence, because the surface is glass and the linen is sealed beneath it. Salt and crumbs wipe straight off; there is no grain to absorb anything and no finish to protect.
