Description
A wine bottle, a becher, candlesticks and challah, all surrounded by embroidered grapes on a velvet ground. The 290 design is one of the fuller pictorial covers Malchut makes, and velvet suits it — the dark matte pile pushes the pale thread of the grapes forward and gives the wine bottle and becher a solid backdrop to stand against instead of a competing weave.
Small measures 14.5 by 17.5, medium 15.5 by 19.5 and large 19.5 by 23.5. Because the design is a scene rather than a pattern, the larger cuts show it as it was drawn. The medium is the usual household order and keeps everything legible; the large is for a long table where the cover is seen from a distance.
The same design is made on white brocade if you want the lighter version, and 290 also runs as a siddur cover and as prayer booklets. Ordering the siddur cover in the same number is the kind of detail that gets noticed years after the fact.
