How this compares
| Kippah | Material | Season / weight | Formality | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basketball Dov Bear – Navy Mesh (this one) | Navy mesh | Spring and summer, airy | Casual, sporty | Boys who play or follow basketball |
| Boys Baseball Kippah – Navy Mesh Dov Bear Yarmulke | Navy mesh | Spring and summer, airy | Casual, sporty | The same navy mesh with the baseball bear and bat |

Best for
- Boys who play basketball at recess, camp or in a league
- Hot days, since the mesh breathes
- Clip sizes for boys who move fast on the court
- Sets of brothers who each pick a different sport bear
Not the right choice if
- You want a black kippah; this mesh is dark navy
- A formal shul or simcha outfit
- Boys who want a plain kippah without a character
- Adults who need a flat larger than 18cm
Why customers choose it
The navy mesh is the same breathable base iKippah uses for its sports bears, so a boy who likes basketball gets the ball and jersey that match his game. The bear is stitched in full colour with the number 18 clearly visible on his jersey, and the orange ball gives a pop of warm colour against the dark navy. Clip sizes help it stay on during a game.

Frequently asked questions
What colour is the mesh?
A dark navy with a raised honeycomb texture, not black.
What number is on Dov Bear's jersey?
The embroidered bear wears number 18 on a royal blue jersey with red and white trim.
Does it stay on during a game?
The 16cm and 18cm flat sizes come in a version with clips, which hold the kippah to the hair while playing.
How does it compare with the soccer Dov Bear on navy mesh?
Same mesh and size range. The soccer bear wears a white 18 jersey and kicks a ball; this one wears blue and carries a basketball.
What size should a young boy choose?
Many boys under six wear sizes 1 to 3. Use the size table and compare with a kippah that already fits.
