Custom Siddur & Tehillim Cover in Leather with Fur Trim
Pickup at both Lakewood stores
Description
Leather with a band of fur worked into it, made up as a cover for a siddur or a Tehillim. The two materials are doing very different things: the leather gives the piece structure and a hard-wearing surface, the fur breaks that up with depth and softness right where your hand falls when the sefer is closed. It is a warmer, heavier-looking piece than plain leather on its own.
Say which sefer the cover is being made for when you order, since it is cut to fit either a siddur or a Tehillim rather than both. Fur trim is not a hard-use finish in the way bare leather is — this tends to be the cover that comes out for Shabbos, Yom Tov and the Yomim Noraim rather than the one that gets thrown into a knapsack on a Tuesday morning.
The same leather-and-fur treatment is made up on custom tallis and tefillin bags, so the siddur cover can be ordered to match a bag already on order. That pairing is the reason to buy it here rather than piece by piece from different places.
