Description
The #7070 cup with gold handles on a clear lucite body. Gold against transparent acrylic is a warm combination — the handles read as the only colour on the piece, and the body itself takes on whatever is behind it. Height is 4 7/8 inches and the full span across both handles comes to 5 inches.
A negel vasser cup lives on a nightstand and gets picked up first thing, before anyone is properly awake, which is why the handles matter more than the decoration does. Two of them means it can be gripped from either side and passed from hand to hand over a basin without being set down halfway. Lucite does not chip the way ceramic does when it knocks the edge of a bed frame.
Gold suits a bedroom with warm wood, brass fittings or cream tones. It is also the finish most often chosen when the cup is going out as a present rather than being bought for a household's own use, since it reads as the more generous of the two metals.
