Antique Leather Kesubah Holder in Bronze, 13 x 9.25 #1557

Antique leather in bronze, design 1557, cut to 13 by 9.25 inches to take a shtar kesubah lying flat. The bronze tone reads warm and slightly aged rather than new, which is a deliberate part of the antique finish and the reason this colour is chosen for a document meant to be kept for a lifetime.

The size is what matters here. A kesubah that has been folded into a drawer or rolled into a tube creases along the folds and the ink cracks at the crease, and after twenty years the damage is permanent. At 13 by 9.25 the document goes in flat and stays flat, protected from light and from handling, and it can be taken out and looked at without being unrolled every time.
