Medallion Inset White Crushed Velvet Challah Cover, No Stones #715

White crushed velvet with the medallion inset design worked into it, embroidered and left without stones. Nothing sparkles here; the pattern is carried entirely by the stitching and by the way crushed velvet holds shadow, which gives a soft, matte cover rather than a bright one. On a white or cream table it nearly reads as texture alone until you look closely at it.

Three sizes are offered: small at 14.5x17.5, medium at 15.5x19.5 and large at 19.5x23.5. The small covers a pair of challos comfortably, the medium is the common family choice, and the large fits a long board with a proper drape. With no stonework to catch, this is also the easiest of the medallion covers to live with when there are young children at the table.

A cover without crystals suits a household that keeps a plainer table, and it works as a second cover for anyone who owns a heavier one and wants something simpler for ordinary Shabbosim. It is an easy gift as well, when you do not know the recipient's taste in stonework.
