Shomea Tefillah Pocket Booklet, Rosewood Cover #239

A pocket Shomea Tefillah booklet in a rosewood-toned cover — a warm reddish-brown that reads more like furniture than like a book jacket. It is the darker of the two covers this booklet is made in, and it is the one that hides handling, which matters for something that is going to live loose in a bag rather than on a shelf.

The whole idea is portability. A booklet this size fits inside a siddur, in a tallis bag next to the tefillin, in a jacket pocket, in a handbag, in the pocket behind a car seat. It goes where a full siddur will not, which means the tefillos in it get said in places you would otherwise skip them — waiting somewhere, travelling, sitting in a hospital.

At this price it is bought in numbers rather than singly. Families put them out at a kiddush or a melave malka, schools hand them out, and people keep a couple spare to give away. The same booklet is produced with a white cover if you want the two to be distinguishable at a glance.
