Description
Printed on silver metallic stock, design 787, folded twice into a slim upright of three and a quarter inches wide by seven point nine high. The metallic finish is the point of the piece: against a white cloth and silver leichter it picks up the candlelight rather than sitting flat, and the tall narrow proportion is unlike anything else in the simanim range.
Inside are Kiddush for Rosh Hashana and the simanim. The narrow width means it takes almost no room at a place setting, which matters a great deal on the first night when the table is carrying every siman there is. Order in Ashkenaz or Edut Mizrach according to the table.
Metallic stock is also what makes this the card people keep. A matte card gets cleared with the tablecloth; a silver one tends to end up in a drawer and reappear the following year. For an organisation sending something out before Rosh Hashana, the finish does a lot of work at a very small cost per piece.
