Description
Leather carrying the Solitaire design, worked with fine embroidery and sterling crystals. Leather is the outlier among challah covers — it has weight, it holds a shape, and it takes embroidery with sharper definition than any pile fabric, because the thread sits against a smooth surface with nothing to soften the edges. It is the most substantial cover in this group by some distance.
Small at 14.5x17.5, medium at 15.5x19.5 and large at 19.5x23.5. Size matters more here than with fabric: leather does not collapse, so a large sits over a full board with structure while a small stays almost flat on the challos. Decide first if you want drape or a firm panel, then choose from there.
Design 680 also runs as a challah board, a haggadah cover and a matzah cover. The board with the leather cover is the pairing to think about first — one design number in two very different materials, which is more interesting on a table than two pieces of the same fabric.
