Description
Supple leather worked with close embroidery and set with sterling crystals. The stitching on 825 sits tight to the hide, so the pattern is dense without being raised, and the crystals are placed through it rather than clustered in one spot. Leather also ages in a way cloth does not: it softens where it is handled, and a cover folded back at the same points every Friday night takes on its own creases over time.
Sizes are the standard three. Small at 14.5 by 17.5 for a compact table, medium at 15.5 by 19.5 for a normal pair of challos, large at 19.5 by 23.5 where the cover needs to reach across a board or a wide setting. If you are buying this to sit on the matching board, take the size up from what you would choose for bare challos.
That matching board exists in the same 825 design, and so does a matzah cover and a tallis and tefillin bag. Buying the board and the cover as a pair is the usual way this number gets ordered.
