Description
Two holes at each corner, keshiras Ashkenaz, hand-tied, on a white cotton beged with a slit neck. The two-hole corner is the older Ashkenazishe practice and still the one many families hold by; the strings pass through both holes before the knot, and men who wear it generally will not go back to one. The slit neck opens at the front instead of pulling over the head.
Sizes 18 to 28, with thin avodas yad, thick avodas yad or bli. Thin is the everyday string. Thick makes for a fuller, heavier set of tzitzis that shows plainly below a jacket. Bli is for the man who buys his strings separately or has a particular person tie them — the beged comes with the corners finished and empty.
Cotton is what makes this a weekday pair rather than a Shabbos one. It is light under a shirt, it is bearable in July, and at this price you can keep enough of them that nobody in the house is ever waiting on the wash. If you have been buying two-hole begadim one at a time, this is the listing to order from properly.
