Description
Design #230 is one of the more restrained patterns in the line, and under clear glass it stays quiet — no raised work, no metallic glare, just the artwork reading up through a smooth top. On a table where the challos, the wine and the candlesticks are already doing the visual work, that restraint is a feature.
The board is 16 by 11 inches. That holds two full challos with the knife laid beside them and leaves border enough that the cover drapes properly. Glass keeps the upkeep at nothing: crumbs and salt come off with a damp cloth, and there is no grain to darken, no finish to strip and no oiling schedule to remember.
Where #230 earns its keep is the family around it. Malchut cuts the same design as a challah cover, as a bencher cover and as a tallis and tefillin bag.
