Description
Raw silk keeps the slubs and irregularities of the fibre, so the surface carries a subtle grain and a soft, low sheen rather than the hard shine of a polished satin. Six panels form the crown, a white lining goes inside, and an eyelet is set into that lining to take a clip.
The colour range here is the widest of the fabrics offered: black, burgundy, hot pink, green, light grey, dark grey, ivory, lavender, navy, orange, light pink, purple, red and royal blue. That is enough breadth to match a scheme exactly rather than settle for something close to it. Production runs four to six weeks, and that is the number to plan around — a simcha six weeks out is comfortable, a simcha in three weeks is not.
Raw silk is the choice when a family wants something that feels finished without going metallic. It suits a chasunah, and it survives an evening better than the very thin satins that crease the moment they come off a head.
