3D Canopy Brocade Challah Cover with Silver or Gold Embroidery #176

Raised pillar work is the whole point of design 176. The canopy arch, the old-style candlesticks and the flower pot standing at the base are embroidered in three dimensions, so they sit up off the brocade instead of lying flat in it. Brocade carries a woven pattern of its own, and the lifted stitching reads against that texture rather than sinking into it. Thread is silver or gold, and the two are genuinely different pieces: silver keeps the arch cool and architectural, gold warms the whole panel and pulls it toward the candlesticks.
