Description
Brown antique leather on the #1547 cover — a true saddle brown, mottled by the antiquing so the colour varies across the panel. It is the least showy option in this design and the one most men end up choosing; brown reads as a sefer rather than as an object.
The Tefillah BeKavanah text comes two ways. Take L'Chol if the siddur is for weekday davening and will be carried daily with the tefillin. Take HaShulem if you want Shabbos in the same volume — the fuller edition, and the sensible pick for a siddur that will be used at the Shabbos table as well as in shul. Both are the 5x7 size, which is the one that holds comfortably in a single hand.
The same #1547 brown is made up as a machzor cover for the Yomim Noraim, a haggadah cover and a zemiros booklet. For a bar mitzvah bochur it is worth thinking about the siddur and the zemiros together, since the two get used in completely different settings and still look like they belong to the same person.
