Description
Camel is the lightest of the antique leathers in the #1557 design — a soft tan that keeps the aged mottling but reads far warmer than the brown or the black. Against a dark suit or a dark tallis bag it stands out, which is generally the point of choosing it. The cover is cut to a 5x7 siddur with no trim added.
Tefillah BeKavanah is offered here as L'Chol or HaShulem. The weekday L'Chol is the thinner sefer and the one that gets carried; HaShulem adds the Shabbos tefillos and becomes the single siddur someone davens from all week. Think about where the sefer will spend its time — a bochur's bag or a shelf at home — and the choice usually makes itself.
A pale leather shows handling sooner than a dark one, and on an antique finish that is understood as part of the look rather than as damage. The #1557 number is also made up as a tallis and tefillin bag, a machzor cover and a haggadah cover in the same camel.
