Description
Bronze antique leather, 5x7, holding the HaMeforash Tehillim. The leather has the mottled metallic tone that antiquing produces — brown underneath, bronze across the surface — and it is a finish that improves with handling rather than scuffing. Nothing is embroidered on it; the cover is left plain.
HaMeforash gives you the explanation alongside the perakim, which changes how a Tehillim actually gets used. Instead of saying the words quickly and moving on, you can stop on a posuk and know what it means. That matters most in the situations where people genuinely pick up a Tehillim — for a choleh, before a din Torah, through the Yomim Noraim.
The 5x7 size is the one that holds in a single hand for a long stretch. It fits a coat pocket, a shtender shelf, or the space next to a siddur in a tallis bag, and it is solid enough to be passed around at a Tehillim gathering. A leather-covered Tehillim is also the standard thing to bring to a shiva house or to give someone who has taken on a kevias itim, precisely because it will still be in use years later.
