A tzinder is the thin taper you light first and carry to the lichter, and using one keeps a match from burning down to your fingers halfway through kindling a full set of candles. These are made from one hundred percent pure beeswax - no paraffin blend - so they burn with the clean, faintly honeyed character beeswax is known for.
Twenty come in the pack, which for most households is a season's worth rather than a week's. They are slim enough to hold comfortably and to store flat in a drawer next to the candlesticks, and beeswax does not sweat or soften the way cheaper wax does when a kitchen gets warm.
