Hand Woven Black Silk Gartel Sizes 13 to 36, Four Lengths from 145 to 180 Inches

Woven by hand from premium black silk, with the weave worked tightly enough that the gartel holds its form rather than going limp after a season of use. The silk gives it a weight and a hand that the cheaper materials do not have, and it finishes with fringes at both ends.

Two things are chosen here. The size number counts the silk strings across the width: size 13 is thirteen strings and size 36 is thirty six, with 15, 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26 in between. A narrow gartel sits light and unobtrusive, while the wider sizes make a broad, substantial band and are what men take for Shabbos and Yom Tov. Length is separate, running 145, 156, 168 and 180 inches. A gartel is wound several times around, so the length follows from your build and from how many turns you take; if you are unsure, the longer measure is the safer error.
