Hand made white silk, known in this line for how well it wears, and measuring roughly 145 inches long before the fringes at either end are counted. The silk keeps a clean surface and does not go grey the way lesser white materials do after a few years of being folded away between Yamim Noraim.

Eight widths are made: 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 and 36 strings across. Since a white gartel is by definition a dress item, most men take one of the fuller widths, though the narrower sizes are there for anyone who wants something less pronounced. There is a single length, so the width is the only choice to make, and 145 inches gives enough for several turns on most builds.
