Description
A classic tallis and tefillin bag silhouette carrying detailed Malchut embroidery. Nothing about the shape of #2051 is unusual; the interest is all in the worked face, which is the older and more durable way of making a bag like this stand out. No trim to shed, no nap to flatten.
Three cuts are made: 10.5 by 10 inches, 14 by 14 and 16 by 16. Those correspond to a bar mitzvah bochur, a man with a standard tallis, and a man with a large or heavy one. Fold the tallis as he folds it, measure that, and allow room for the tefillin beside it. Ordering by the size of his current bag is the usual way people end up with the wrong one.
This is a reasonable choice for a first serious bag, since the design does not lock him into a look he will want to move on from.
