Worked to order in the Malchut embroidery, #3014 carries its pattern across the front of the bag with no applied trim. Thread on ground, nothing else, which is the construction that ages best out of everything in this category.
Three sizes are made and the differences are practical rather than cosmetic. The 10.5 by 10 bar mitzvah bag suits a bochur and a smaller tallis. The 14 by 14 large talis bag is the standard adult size and covers most tallisos folded to quarters. The 16 by 16 extra large is for a tallis gadol, heavy wool, or a man who wants room for a siddur in the same bag.
The most useful thing you can do before ordering is to fold his tallis the way he folds it and measure it. Every other decision here is a matter of taste; that one is a matter of fit.
