Description
Radzin techeiles, dyed according to the Radziner Rebbe's mesorah and carrying his hashgacha. The packet holds twelve short white strings and four longer blue ones, all hand spun from 100 percent virgin wool and measuring 50 cm, which is what tying a full four corners takes.
The listing carries a thickness choice. Thick strings are the practical pick for a tallis katan that is worn under a shirt all day, since the extra body keeps them from wearing down at the corner hole; thin strings sit lighter and are what many men choose for a tallis gadol. Either weight ties onto a katan or a gadol, and either way the blue strands are the long ones used to wind the chulyos while the white make up the rest of the corner.
Anyone tying with techeiles for the first time should sit with someone who has done it before, or at minimum work through a set of white strings first. The blue is the expensive part of the packet and a mistimed wind is a costly thing to undo.
